ORGANIZACIÓN DE ACOGIDA: Fundatia de Voluntari Somaschi PROGRAMA QUE INCORPORA VOLUNTARIOS INMEDIATAMENTE Y DE CORTA DURACIÓN TEMATICA: actividades con jóvenes Gipsy Eye is a Non Governmental Organisation created in 2008: our association is a Roma and non-Roma association aiming to fight prejudices against Roma and to empower the Roma youth.During the next summer, the association would like to enliven the town we are based in. We strongly believe that hosting international volunteers is a good way to fulfil this objective. We want to keep on non-formal activities and make the town's inhabitants, especially the youth, living a nice and educative summer. The objectives are various, and some of them are described below. We would like to host 6 volunteers from all across Europe from June 1 to July 27, and 6 other volunteers from August 1 to September 25. It is really important to us to bring a strong intercultural experience to any person we host and who comes to take part in our activities. We are willing to use non-formal education since we are using this method daily. Being fully member of our organization, each volunteer will also have language courses and the chance to develop many relevant skills for his/her personal and professional future. With this project we will bring the volunteers an intercultural, professional and human experience. The project will also widen the field of action of our association, strengthen our experience and increase our network.We hope to increase Cozmesti’s children, local population and civil society awareness of european issues and citizenship. The volunteer will evolve in a multicultural environment where Roma, Romanian and various other European cultures are cohabiting together. In this project, Gipsy Eye is willing to work on cultural, european and ecological dimensions. The first needs to be developed through heritage and organization/participation of artistic events. The european aspect will be central: it will be strengthened by cultural exchanges and awareness. The ecological issue will be initiated through this new project; this global and major issue is not really dealt with in the area we are working in. The volunteers will be assigned to these main tasks: ? One of our activities will be to build up traditional Roma houses (Chirpici). The point of this task is to make them discover the Roma way-of-life. ? Leading the association’s activities in Cozmesti’s school. One of the association's main project concerns these Roma and non-Roma children in Cozmesti, a village near Pascani. ? Organizing a multidisciplinary festival about Romas in Romania and elsewhere. Gipsy Eye is going to organise a cultural festival focused on Romas. The volunteers will provide support to logistic activities, contacting and welcoming partners, advertising the festival in Pascani and around the town, leading social media promotion... ? Helping to promote the association in Romania and in the rest of Europe. The association is writing on its website daily, in order to report activities. The volunteer’s tasks will also include network building and some office work. ? Various tasks related to the events the organisation needs to prepare during summer 2016. Beside the festival, the organisation seeks to set up many events during the summer, as welcoming young people from France in a two-weeks summer camp, for example. |
