SPECIFIC DUTIES 1. Be responsible for the implementation of the WASSU strategic plan and vision, integrating the projects goals and objectives, working in close collaboration with the Executive Director. 2. Be responsible for the financial management, logistic and technical administration of the projects. Ensure that all activities are implemented, evaluated and budgeted as planned, with high quality and on time. 3. Coordinate the development and implementation of the projects in The Gambia in collaboration with the Wassu-UAB Foundation. 4. Coordinate field studies, researches, training, monitoring and evaluations. 5. Write project proposals for fundraising including logical frameworks and budgets. 6. Ensure that funds related to the project are used judiciously and accounted for. 7. Prepare and submit timely and high quality narrative, programmatic and financial reports to the donors 8. Supervise WGK staff and ensure their motivation to implement activities with efficiency, quality and timely. 9. Obtain formal commitments and collaborating plans with key NGOs, academic institutions, private-public partnerships, funding agencies and other organizations. 10. Carry out other duties assigned by the Executive Director. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES Candidates for this position should have the following work experience, skills and qualities: 1. Diploma in Management, Economics and/or Development Studies. 2. Strong knowledge and experience in reporting and accountability (experience in EU and UN reporting process would be a plus), accounting and budgeting. 3. Excellent organizational, communication and coordination skills. 4. Experience in Human Resources Management and Team building. 5. Strong experience in writing proposals and fundraising. 6. Familiar with Project Cycle Management and the use of logical frameworks. 7. Excellent communication (English and Spanish) and report writing skills in both languages. 8. Ability to work responsibly under direct and indirect supervision and to manage multiple tasks/responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. 9. Ability to respond effectively to urgent requests and exercise of initiative in order to prioritize a complex and demanding project workload. 10. Strong interpersonal skills, able to work cordially within a team, self-motivated worker and team player. 11. Respectful and ability to handle culturally sensitive issues in a tactful way. 12. Experience in conducting research and training is highly desired. 13. Experience in working with NGOs and grassroots communities is highly desired. |
