The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is the old European Voluntary Service (EVS) and its financed for the EU. Its an activity that can take from 1 to 7 months long. The grant covers: travel costs, health insurance, accomodation, food care, pocket money and a language course.

HOSTING ORGANITZATION: “Communication Through Art” is a long-term EVS/ESC project, carried out by non-governmental organization LYVS in cooperation with the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. The idea of the project is to enhance the cultural life of Minsk residents, primarily young people, to encourage them to learn more about visual arts, using innovative approaches, to promote creativity, intercultural communication, understanding and activism, also to give the opportunity for a foreign volunteer

PROJECTS AND TASKS:

– Organizing workshops, free public lectures, movie nights etc. for young people on the various topics, connected with arts, museum work, communication. The volunteer is encouraged to be creative – to choose unusual topics or to look at ordinary topics from a different angle;

– Organizing intercultural evenings about the native country of the volunteer in the office of the organization;

– Organizing events and participating in activities, directed at promotion of the volunteer movement and EVS in particular as one of the volunteer opportunities;

– Assisting in organization of the special events at the museum. Depending on the progress of the project the volunteer could be give an opportunity to design and organize their own event at the museum;

– Helping with the museum marketing (primarily in social media), writing articles about museum in English.
