The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is the old European Voluntary Service (EVS) and its financed for the EU. Its an activity that can take from one to twelve months long. The grant covers: travel costs, health insurance, accomodation, food care, pocket money and a language course.

HOSTING ORGANITZATION: STRIM.

PROJECTS AND TASKS:

-STRIM Association: Developing and promoting ESC, organizing events, activities, workshops, sharing his/her experiences with local people, preparing materials for STRIM website and social media, linking volunteers with STRIM and implementing his/her own initiatives projects.

-Regional Public Library of Krakow: Teaching his/her native language and sharing culture, preparing program, materials and facilities for the classes, organizing cultural meeting for groups of children, youth, or seniors; writing articles for the library’s blog, helping with organization of events and exhibitions, operating computer data base, digitalization of library collections and shooting and image processing.

-Zespót Szkót Specjalnych: This is a special education school complex for children and teenagers with different disabilities. Volunteers will help teachers with leading after the school activities for students. 1 volunteer will work in the kindergarten and 3 in vocational school. They will assist the classes requiring additional care such as art class, gym and individual revalidation. Volunteers will accompany groups during school trips to the cinema, theater, museums, amusement parks, school festivities, integration events, educational workshops and competitions.

-Youth club Dom ttarcerza: The volunteer will help children in everyday activities like using toilet, washing hands, eating, as well as educational ones, such as drawing, painting and etc. Once a week he/she will be expected to assist outdoors horse riding activity. It is a physiotherapy session for autistic children. In addition, the volunteer will have the possibility to take part in occasional art, cultural, sport events, weekend trips or excursions assisting the teacher during walks, games and outdoor activities.

-Kindergartens and school: Accompanying children in games, educational activities, helping teachers to prepare and conduct classes, assisting teachers during walks, trips, excursions, etc; helping children with art activities such as painting, drawing, cutting and sticking, etc; helping to organize smalls events and celebrations, teaching about the his/her culture and country of origin (through presentations, games, songs, etc) and organizing workshops or events for students.
