For its office in Madrid, DARA is looking to recruit a: Financial Controller Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring the appropriate financial management of the various projects carried out by the organisation. The Financial controller also oversees and monitors the work of the Administrative Officer. The main duties of the Financial Controller include: to provide rigorous financial control of DARA’s general budget, income and expenditure, and project finances. S/he will provide the Chief Executive, Programme Manager, and Project Coordinators with up to date financial information in order to enable them to take management decisions. S/he will also manage the cash flow and invoices and payments; will act as the focal point for DARA with a partner who is responsible for delivering on (outsourced) administrative tasks; and liaises with DARA’s auditors. | Perfil/Requisitos |
Qualifications and Skills: • A university degree in Business Administration or related field. • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position – pleadse provide references. • Experience in managing public funding (AECID, European Commission, UN organisations, etc.) • Good command of English (written and oral) – please note that DARA is an English speaking organization. Candidates with insufficient command of English are discouraged to apply • Expert use of Excel. Knowledge of accounting softwares and ERP tools is an added value • Attention to detail in financial reporting and presentation of data • Work responsibly to meet deadlines. • Compliance with operating policies and procedures • Good interpersonal communication • Good analytical skills • Flexibility and capacity to multi-task • Reliability Conditions: • Salary in accordance to DARA standards. • 6 months probation period followed by 1 year contract, renewable. |
