JOB POSITION: HOUSING FIRST RESEARCH OFFICER FOR THE HÁBITAT PROGRAM

RAIS works to ensure that no person lives on the street. We are a social initiative entity, nonprofit, independent and plural, of state level, created in 1998. We are moved by the certainty that it is possible to eradicate homelessness.
Habitat is the housing program that RAIS supports for the homeless living the worse situations. It is based on the Housing First methodology, which offers an innovative response to the homelessness phenomenon and aims at eradicating it. Habitat provides people with an individual home and professional support based on their needs and demands.
RAIS actively participates in the Housing First international community. We are part of the Housing First Europe Hub, we are partners of the Home EU research project and participate in other European and international projects.
Mission
Reporting directly to the Director of the Hábitat program, the research officer will work autonomously implementing research activities linked to the Habitat program and the Housing First methodology. Among others, activities will include the development and test of a fidelity assessment method and field research with Housing First service clients, professionals and decision makers.

Functions
• Search and analysis of documents and research pieces, articles, reports and other sources.
• Field research, data collection and coding: conducting interviews, focus groups or other actions with different stakeholders, including service users, service professionals and external agents.
• Design of research and evaluation methodologies and tools, and analysis databases and methods.
• Elaboration of reports, articles and presentations.
• Coordination with internal and external agents for the implementation of the research and evaluation activities.
Required profile
• Passion for social issues, fighting inequalities and social transformation.
• Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative evaluation or research and statistics is required.
• Graduate or Undergraduate degree (Diplomatura o Licenciatura), preferably in Social Sciences related fields (Psychology, Sociology, Politics or similar).
• Good written production in Spanish and English (grammar, orthography, redaction). Other languages will be valued.
• Knowledge of the Social Sector, social or housing policies, homelessness or mental health is desired.
• Good communication skills needed (clear message and speech production, adapted to different formats and targets).
• User knowledge of SPSS or similar software and of Word and Excel.
• Available to travel occasionally.
We offer
• Full time position.
• Initial contract until 31st December 2018 with possibility to extend.
• Reference working hours (flexible): Monday to Thursday 9-18; Friday 8-14
• Job location: Madrid (Diego de León)
• Starting date: immediate
• Salary: depending on candidate’s experience and value
